Le Deuil
Grief does not always announce itself. Sometimes it lives on the chest, small and quiet, while it takes up the entire back.
Le Deuil — The Mourning — is built around The Tear: a single eye with a teardrop whose interior carries the words "The blood of the innocent shed by the weak grieved by the strong." On the front, the image sits at the chest, intimate in scale — the private weight a man carries. On the back, the same eye fills the lower half in full photorealistic scale, enormous, unavoidable, impossible to ignore from behind.
The contrast between the two scales on one garment is the piece's entire argument. You carry grief quietly. The world sees it anyway.
